orchestras as Koln Chamber Orchestra, N.D.R Orchestra in Hamburg, Berlin Radio Symphony Orchestra, etc.
In 1979, he returned to Korea and was appointed concertmaster of the Korean Philharmonic Orchestra and the KBS Symphony Orchestra. He also took over the leadership of the Korean Chamber Ensemble and was appointed to the faculty at Seoul National University as Professor of Violin.
Min Kim, in his capacity as the music director and concermaster, has built the Korean Chamber Emsemble into one of the most successful musical groups in Korea and has taken it on numerous, highly successful internation tours during the past two decades. Among the recent highlights are the 1995 U.S.-Canada tour, the European tours of 1997 and 2000, the Salzburg debut and the UNESCO Peace Concert in Paris during 1999, and the 2001 European tour which included a performance in the Berlin Philharmonic Chamber Hall.
He has been a guest-professor of Hong Kong Academy and a member of the jury in the Wieniawski International Competition for young musicians in 1997, 2000, 2003, the Dong-A International Competition and the Tchaikovsky International Competition for Young Musicians. In 2004, he is invited as a member of the jury in Sendai International Competition in Japan and Isang Yun International Competition in Korea. His students have won prizes in several major international competitions over the world.
In 2005, Celebrating to the 40th anniversary of Korean Chamber Ensemble, He will lead the orchestra as a music director participating in Heidelberg Chamber Music Festival, Poland Beethoven Festival(music director: K.Penderecki), concerts in Netherland, Finland Naantali International Music Festival, Rheingau Music Festival, Saarbrucken Festival, etc.
Currently, He is serving as the Dean in the college of Music at Seoul National University, a music director of Korean Chamber Ensemble, a president of Korean Symphony Orchestra.
